Mymensingh Medical College is a prestigious government institution that offers a range of medical courses. It conducts MBBS, BDS, and postgraduate programs in 27 different disciplines. Affiliated with Dhaka University and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), the college admits 197 students in MBBS and 52 students in BDS courses annually, with 10% of the seats reserved for foreign students. Additionally, 138 students are admitted to various postgraduate courses.

Originally established in 1924 as "Lytton Medical School" in Baghmara, the college was later renamed Mymensingh Medical College in 1962. The first batch of MBBS, consisting of 32 students (M 01), commenced their studies at that time. The college has its official journal, Mymensingh Medical Journal, which is indexed in Medicus/MEDLINE.

The college campus was relocated to Charpara in 1972, covering a total area of 84 acres. The college building, spanning four stories and 18,000 sq.m., is adjacent to the hospital building. The hospital itself occupies 58 acres of land (with an additional 5.7 acres for S. K. hospital) and has a capacity of 1000 beds.

Preclinical and para-clinical disciplines are housed in the college building, while clinical disciplines are located in the hospital building. Apart from MBBS and BDS courses, Mymensingh Medical College also offers postgraduate programs in collaboration with BSMMU and Dhaka University. These include MD residency in five disciplines, MS residency in four disciplines, MPhil in five disciplines, and Diploma in ten disciplines.

The admissions process for undergraduate courses (MBBS and BDS) is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), while postgraduate admissions are overseen by BSMMU.
